Real estate tax will be introduced in two years

The draft amendments to the Tax Code for the introduction of real estate tax instead of land and property taxes will be prepared by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy in 2010, according to the main directions of tax policy for 2009-2011, published on the website of the Ministry of Finance. As noted, the ministries prepared a schedule for the development of the relevant head of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation. The schedule provides that the corresponding project will be prepared by the Ministry of Finance of Russia together with the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Ministry of Justice of Russia and entered into the Government of the Russian Federation in 2010 for the subsequent referral to the State Duma.

"With the inclusion of a chapters governing real estate tax, real estate tax can be introduced in those constituent entities of the Russian Federation where cadastral registration of real estate objects and the results of the cadastral evaluation of real estate are introduced," the Ministry of Finance reports.
