"Free floating" . Starring Hugh Hughes and Sioned Rowlands. The play Floating (“Free Floating”) was made in the genre of stand-up comedy, which is rare for us, but extremely popular in England. Hugh Hughes here is not so much a performer as a storyteller, not constrained by any regulations. The starting point of the plot is this: on April 1, 1982, after an earthquake and the destruction of the Menai Bridge, the islet of Anglesey was separated from Wales and set off for free navigation. On it, as if trapped, was Hugh Hughes, desperately trying to escape and learn about life outside the small island. “When I first started telling the story of Anglesey,” Hughes recalls, “a lot of people, especially the people there, thought I was making it all up. I continued to talk and collect evidence, and then many began to believe that this really happened. Then the Hoipolloi Theater invited me to turn the story into a performance, and I happily agreed...” Hoipolloi Theater and Hugh Hughes Production (Great Britain) on the stage of the Meyerhold Center , 19.00.
