Prime Minister Vladimir Putin instructed specialized ministries and departments to deal with the issue of providing young scientists with the possible use of land plots located in the use of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
“Of course, it is important to help young scientists with housing,” Putin said on Thursday, May 29, at a general meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This is informed by RIA Novosti .
"Here you need to use all resources, including land plots located in the use of RAS. I have already ordered the relevant federal ministries to work out these issues in detail," the head of government said.
Putin agrees with the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yuri Osipov, who believes that the solution of the housing problem of young scientists "can most seriously change the situation with personnel."
“So that people go to science today, realize their potential in their homeland, in Russia, they should have the opportunity to fully engage in research work, they need to see horizons of their scientific growth. And no less important is to have comfortable and worthy living conditions,” Putin said.
The prime minister recalled that the Academy independently determines the number of employees and the system of payment for their work.
“It is quite true that the scientist’s income level should be directly related to the results of his scientific activity,” Putin added, in conclusion, wishing the RAS employees “fruitful work”.
