MOVIE
"Speed Racer" (USA, 2008). Directed by Andy and Larry Wachowski. Starring Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, Susan Sarandon, John Goodman, Scott Porter, Melville Poupaud and others. The main character is a young racing driver, Speedy, who dared to challenge the all-powerful automobile magnates and take part in races of worldwide significance in the car that was dear to his own heart. The Wachowski brothers approached the film adaptation of obviously non-cinematic material with the enthusiasm of the creators of "Pirates of the Caribbean", but it seems they miscalculated - the expensive and cherished project by producers for almost fifteen years turned out to be buried under a bushel of other hits somewhere in the middle of the top ten hit and , apparently, won’t even really pay off. The more interesting it is to watch it. “Barricades” 17.00, 22.00, “Karo-Film on Kurskaya” 19.00, 19.30, 21.40, 22.10, 0.15, 0.50, “Kinomir” 19.10, 0.20, “Kinocenter” 17.25, “Kronverk Cinema MDM” 17.35, 20 .10, "October" 18.50, 19.00, 19.30, 21.30, 21.40, 0.10, 0.15, 0.45, “Pushkinsky ” 17.15, 22.30, “Five Stars” 17.50, 20.25, 23.00, “Rolan” 21.15, “Cinema Park on Kaluzhskaya 18” .20 19.30 21.00 22.10 23.40, “Cinema Star RIO” 18.00, 18.30, 20.35, 21.05, 23.10, 23.40, “Formula Kino Horizon ” 19.00, 20.00, “Formula Kino Europe” 17.00, 18.00, 19.00, 19.20, 21.45, 0.30 , 1.10, “Formula Kino Strela” 19.00.
“Life after him” (France, 2007). Directed by Gael Morel. Starring Catherine Deneuve, Thomas Dumerchais, Guy Marchand, Elodie Boucher, Ellie Medeiros, Louis Rego, Adrien Jolivet. A film from last year's Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival: a noble elderly woman loses her son in a car accident, after which she begins to experience not quite the right feelings for his friend. In its purest form, “cinema is not for everyone,” that is, for those who think that the highest manifestation of screen mastery were the films of the French “new wave” and the late films of Francois Ozon. “Artistic” 17.50, 21.20, “Five Stars on Novokuznetskaya” 21.15.
“Lie low in Bruges” (UK - Belgium, 2008). Directed by Martin McDonagh. Starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes, Ciren Hinds, Jeremy Renier, Clemence Poésy, Mark Donovan, Sachi Kimura and Zelko Ivanek. Two hitmen, Ray and Ken, failed an important mission in London, and for the time being they were sent to sit out troubles in Bruges, Belgium. But, however, even there, in the European silence, they cannot count on a quiet life. Especially when it turns out that one of them must kill the other... “Cinema Center” 21.35, “Five Stars” 21.30, 0.10, “Five Stars on Novokuznetskaya” 17.15, “Roland” 18.35, “Formula Cinema Europe” 19.20.
“Rewind” (USA, 2008). Directed by Michel Gondry. Starring Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover, Mia Farrow, Melonie Diaz, Quinton Aaron, PJ Byrne and others. A funny comedy from the author of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Science of Sleep. The dunce Jerry, in a completely idiotic way, demagnetizes all the tapes in the video store, which his friend Mike is looking after. And in order not to lose clients, the comrades have to hastily re-shoot - on their knees and with their own participation - the main hits: from “The Lion King” and “Driving Miss Daisy” to “RoboCop” and “Back to the Future.” “Five Stars” 23.30, “Five Stars on Novokuznetskaya” 21.20, “Rolan” 23.00.
THEATERS
“Woe from Wit” A.S. Griboedova. Directed by Rimas Tuminas. Starring Alexander Berda, Valery Shalnykh, Ivan Stebunov, Marina Alexandrova, Sergei Garmash. Rimas Tuminas recently headed the Vakhtangov Theater, but this did not prevent him from having time to stage a play on the Sovremennik stage. For Tuminas, “Woe from Wit” became the second meeting with the actors of “Sovremennik” after a seven-year break. Before that there was “The Thunderstorm”, and again the theater tried with all its might to move away from the textbook perception of the play. The audience is offered a completely new concept of the play, new semantic accents are placed. “Contemporary” , 19.00.
