The organizers of the European Football Championship, which will be held from June 7 to 29 in green fields in Austria and Switzerland, mixed up Russian and Polish state flags.
In the booklets dedicated to the upcoming tournament that they distributed to journalists, the Flag of Poland was printed in the material on the Russian national team, and vice versa, the Sports TV channel referring to the Polish RAR news agency.
The remaining fourteen teams participating in Euro 2008, as the source notes, the flags in the booklet corresponded valid.
Note that this is the second "football-diplomatic" incident in the last week. Earlier in the Czech Republic, in front of the friendly match of the national team of this country with the Lithuanian team, the owners mixed up the Lithuanians with Latvians , and the anthem of Latvia was performed by mistake. Moreover, in the program released for this match, the flag of Latvia and the photo of the Latvian team were depicted.
The Czech Football Federation then apologized for the annoying oversight of the Lithuanian Football Federation, as well as the Lithuanian Embassy in Prague. Venzlav Tikhi, who resigned, took the blame for the annoying mistake of the FFC.
