State Duma deputies were concerned about the infrastructure of Abkhazia - "erupted from Georgia of the republic"

Russian parliamentarians held a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday, during which they talked about their vision of the situation in Abkhazia and plans for this republic. In particular, the state of roads and the development of infrastructure in anticipation of the Olympic Games were stipulated.

Thus, the head of the Culture Committee Grigory Ivliev said that on July 17-18, a series of events will be held in Abkhazia in the framework of the spiritual and patriotic cultural action "Abkhazia-the country of friends." According to him, Russian parliamentarians intend to participate in these events. Ivliev expects a promotion to contribute to the world and prosperity of the republic that has broken off from Georgia.

In turn, the first deputy head of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with compatriots Konstantin Zatulin at a press conference spoke out for the need to respect the will of the people of Abkhazia. "It would be easier for Russia, Abkhazia, and Georgia, if the independence of Abkhazia had taken place," he said. According to the parliamentarian, then relations would be built on a completely different, civilized basis.

The politicalist, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations, Sergei Markov, spoke at the press conference about specific issues to strengthen ties with Abkhazia and providing assistance to this unrecognized republic.

He considers first of all necessary to restore order on the border between Russia and the territory of Abkhazia and, above all, in the area of ​​the village of Veseloy. “It’s a shame that it was made there by the Russian authorities,” the deputy said, explaining that we are talking about the road between Russian and Abkhaz territories. In fact, Markov said, "this is a path on which poor people crowd." According to him, there are special claims to border guards and customs officers.

"Russia should take care of protecting the rights of its compatriots living in Abkhazia, and among the priority tasks - to ensure the freedom of movement around the world for them. It would be correct to organize the pilgrimage of our people to the Orthodox shrines in Abkhazia," Markov suggested.

And the vice-speaker of the State Duma from United Russia, the Olympic champion in speed skating Svetlana Zhurova drew attention to the fact that "Abkhazia is ready to help throughout Russia, in the conduct of the Olympic Games, including."
