The behavior of British Petroleum, a shareholder of TNK-BP, is unethical, said Mikhail Friedman, chairman of the board of directors of TNK-BP LTD on Monday. He also accused BP of violating Russian legislation, Interfax reports.
"The board of directors of any other company in this situation would have long fired the general director, and the owner of a 50 percent stake in such a company would resort to trial for the directors of their fiducial responsibility for the directors," the statement said. "The Aar consortium showed maximum patience, but even our patience is a limit," Friedman notes.
Earlier on Monday, Friedman said that Russian shareholders are interested in the redemption of the British BP of one percent of TNK-BP shares to get control in the company.
In addition, Friedman said that Russian shareholders of TNK-BP intend to apply legal mechanisms to restrict the powers of the head of the company Robert Dudley.
