French architects will receive 30 thousand euros for turning their house the color of "goose droppings"

A Parisian court ordered the owners of a skyscraper in Paris to pay 30 thousand euros to the architects of the building as compensation for moral damages because, after renovation, the 31-story building took on the color of “goose droppings,” RIA Novosti reports, citing local media.

The building, located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, underwent scheduled façade cleaning work in 2003. However, the company that carried out the cleaning apparently overdid it: the building turned from brown to greenish-yellow - a shade the French call "caca d'ois" (goose droppings).

The building's architects, Jerome Delaage and Fernand Tsaropoulos, sued the owners of the skyscraper, claiming that they violated their copyright.

“The dark brown color of the building was an important element of the ensemble, which expresses the individuality of the authors through their work,” the court ruling said.

The court held the owners of the building liable, as well as the company that carried out the cleaning of the facade. Together they will pay 15 thousand euros to each of the architects. In addition, the court ruled that the owners are obliged to return the building to its original color.
