The criminal case against the journalist Oleg Lurie, who is accused of fraud and extortion, is sent to the court, writes on Friday the newspaper News Time.
According to the case file, Lurie turned to Slutsker's spouses on June 22, 2006, offering for 50 thousand dollars not to publish the incriminating materials that he had. Slutzers refused to pay and on July 6 the articles "Madame Slutsker. Who earned on the murder of General Trofimov?" And "Madame Slutsker. View from the back" signed by Evgeny Altshul appeared on the website comromat.ru.
On November 28, 2006, Lurie called the assistant to Slutsker and demanded 30 thousand dollars to refuse to publish new articles. Having rejected again, on December 6, the journalist posted on the Anticompromat.ru website the article "Protocols of the Lubyansk sages" signed by Arthur Kendalakian, after which he invited the senator to remove the text for 25 thousand dollars. The investigation claims that Lurie was asked to reduce the requested amount to 15 thousand dollars, and he agreed. Soon, in the building of the Federation Council, 11.5 thousand euros were transferred to the journalist, but Lurie did not remove the article from the site.
After that, the Sumers turned to the prosecutor's office. Lurie was arrested from the sanction of the court on January 26, 2008.
Vladimir Slutsker is a representative of the Government of the Chuvash Republic in the Federation Council. His wife Olga is the owner of the World Class fitness club.
