Chavez will let Russian oil workers in Venezuela

As part of the visit to Moscow, the President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez, Russian oil and gas companies TNK-BP, Lukoil and Gazprom signed a number of agreements with the Venezuela state concern of Petroleos de Venesuela, Interfax reports.

In particular, TNK-BP agreed together with the Venezuelan company to explore the AICUCHO-2 block in the Orinoko basin. Lukoil will work in the same region - it will be engaged in the Khunin -3 block, on which he previously conducted certification of reserves. In turn, Gazprom will help Venezuela conduct certification and assessment of reserves on the Aacucio-3 block.

During a visit to Moscow, Hugo Chavez said that Russia and Venezuela should create a strategic union in the oil field, as well as the military-industrial region.

Based on the results of the Chavez visit, it is also planned to sign an agreement on the creation of a bank to finance joint projects.

Earlier on Tuesday it was also reported that Rosia Prime Minister Vladimir Putin accepted Chavez's offer to visit Venezuela on a visit. “I remember your invitation and I will definitely do it,” Putin said at a meeting with Chavez.
