The document provides, in particular, an increase by 3.9% of the amount of monetary allowance of American military personnel is 0.5% more than the White House proposed, and at first many representatives of the ruling Republican Party resolutely objected.

Other amendments to the bill, which provide for allocations for not related to defense, have also caused objections to a number of senators.

Nevertheless, on the eve of the upcoming universal elections on November 4, to which a third of the Senate will go, even the opponents of these initiatives decided not to take risks and ultimately voted for their approval.

For operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the accepted bill involves the allocation of $ 70 billion.

The House of Representatives of a similar document was approved in May. Now both options will be finalized in the conciliation commission. Then the bill will be submitted for signature to President George Bush, ITAR-TASS reports.
