US President George Bush allowed the Ministry of Finance to use the funds of the American currency stabilization fund to provide assistance to share investment funds. This is stated in the memorandum, the text of which was distributed by the White House.
"In accordance with the law, I allow the use of funds of the currency stabilization fund as a guarantee for some share investment funds," the document says. It also says that this memorandum was issued in response to a request from the US Minister of Finance Henry Polson.
Which investment funds will use such privileges, it is not specified.
On Monday, the House of Representatives of the US Congress quite unexpectedly rejected the bill on the allocation of $ 700 billion to help the national economy to overcome the crisis.
Immediately after this, Bush held a meeting with his economic advisers, as a result of which the head of the Ministry of Finance said that he would do everything possible for the speedy implementation of the plan proposed by the administration and will "continue to work with Congress" in this direction.
As expected, the House of Representatives will again gather for a meeting on Thursday, ITAR-TASS reports.
