The cargo of the Faina vessel,captured by the pirate of Somalia at the end of September this year, was supplied by Kenya - according to international law and national legislation under the relevant contract between the Ukrinmash company and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kenya, the apparatus of the Security Council of Ukraine, widespread on Thursday, said.

Earlier, official Nairobi stated that these tanks were intended for the Kenya government. At the same time, according to the Western media, all facts indicate that Faina was sent to Sudan , and tanks were intended for local rebels, since 2003 by the Civil War with the government forces of the country. Pirates initially required a ransom of 35 million US dollars, but then reduced the amount of up to 20 million. They threaten to kill hostages in the event of a power operation to release them. And the Somali Islamists say they demand from the pirates to burn the ship if the ransom is not paid. On board the vessel at the time of the capture were one citizen of Latvia, three Russians and 17 citizens of Ukraine. Captain of the vessel, Russian citizen Vladimir Kolobkov, died.

Now several American military vessels and the ship of the Russian Navy are “fearless” concentrated in the area where the Faina dry truck captured by pirate is anchored.
