Three strong earthquakes in a row in Lake Baikal - no information about the victims

Three rather strong earthquakes in a row occurred in Baikal, Vesti-24 TV channel reports. The epicenter of all tripod strikes was in the lake water area 25 kilometers east of the city of Baikalsk.

According to the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation, the first underground impetus was registered by the Irkutsk seismic station on Saturday at about 18:00 local time (12:52 Moscow time). The intensity of the earthquake in the epicenter was 5.6 points. After 42 minutes, a re -underground blow of the same intensity occurred, and after another 6 seconds - a stronger - 6.0 points.

In the city closest to the epicenter, the city of Baikalsk felt an earthquake of 3 points. There is no information about victims and destruction.

The last destructive earthquake occurred in Lake Baikal in late August. On the 28th, underground blows with the epicenter in the southern part of Baikal shook the earth's crust with a force of 10 points. Residents of Baikalsk felt an 8-point earthquake.
