Igor Dmitriev died

On January 26, after a second stroke in St. Petersburg, the famous actor Igor Dmitriev died at the age of 81. Recently, he has not appeared on the stage of the Comedy Theater, where he worked since 1984. He had his first stroke in August 2005.

Igor Dmitriev was born on May 29, 1927 in Leningrad. Then there was no time for origins, but later, when the noble past ceased to seem dangerous, they always said that the same Anna Scherer, in whose salon the action of the novel “War and Peace” begins, was his great-grandmother. However, after the revolution, Dmitriev’s parents already served in the field of culture. During World War II, Dmitriev's family was evacuated to Perm, along with the choreographic school of the Mariinsky Theater. There he entered the Theater Studio, and then completed his education in Moscow. Dmitriev was an excellent theater actor, but the public knows him more for his film roles, as well as for dubbing, which he did a lot (one of his last works was one of the characters in “Smeshariki”), the actor also hosted radio broadcasts, and then the television program “V” visiting Igor D...” on St. Petersburg television.

Dmitriev played his first significant role in the old Gerasimov film "Quiet Don". Then there were “Hamlet”, “Star of Captivating Happiness”, “Silva”, “Dog in the Manger”, “The Adventures of Prince Florizel”, “Pokrovsky Gate” and others.

Igor Dmitriev will be buried at the Serafimovskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
