A large fire occurred in the vicinity of the American city of Los Angeles (California), fire destroyed 200 hectares of the forest and came close to the city, reports AP.

The fire occurred in the Angels National Forest Park on the night of Saturday to Sunday about 30 kilometers from the Los Angeles center. The fire began to spread quickly and already threatens residential buildings on the outskirts of the city.

400 firefighters and helicopters were thrown to fight the elements, the fire inspector Sam Padill said.

The authorities evacuated about 1.2 thousand inhabitants of 450 houses, the fire is approaching the city, the representative of the US forestry service Stanton Floria said.
