The new “voice recognition” service of the fashionable iPhone communicator of the American company Apple experienced an unexpected failure in the UK, RIA Novosti reports with reference to The Daily Telegraph .
The free voice recognition app became available for download in the UK earlier this week. According to the developers of the new feature, in response to a voice request, the Google search engine should automatically offer a list of websites related to the named word. In the US, the application worked without problems, but in the UK an unexpected problem arose - the miracle phone does not recognize British regional accents.
Thus, in the word iPhone, uttered by a Scot, the phone hears the word sex, after which the dumbfounded owner of the handset, instead of sites dedicated to the new Apple product, receives an offer to visit porn sites.
The same word, spoken by residents of Wales, was perceived by the phone in one case as gorillas (gorillas), and in another as kitchen sink.
Empirically, it turned out that of all the main regional accents in Great Britain, the iPhone recognizes only Yorkshire. Residents of other regions remained deeply offended by Google, whose website states that the application is “currently available only in English.”
