In Holland, the football player almost shot his rivals right on the field

The player of one of the amateur football teams opened the firing of the pistol and threatened to kill one of the rivals at the end of the match in Rotterdam, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the newspaper De Telegraaf.

The Black Arrow team, in which immigrants from Surinam played, won with a score of 5: 3 above the RVV club, whose players represent the Turkish diaspora. After the final whistle, a brawl appeared on the field. One of the players of the Black Arrow ran to the bench, took out a gun from his bag and, running out onto the field, opened shooting into the air. Then he directed the weapon to one of the rivals. Only the intervention of another player of the Black Arrow prevented the tragedy.

The arrived police officers could not immediately arrest the criminal, as he managed to escape from the stadium. They detained another player of the same team who is suspected of involvement in the incident. The personality of the firing police is known, and law enforcement officers are sure that he will soon be arrested.

The football world of the Netherlands is shocked by what happened. Chairman of the Royal Dutch Football Union Shaak Van Der Crona said that the incident would be carefully investigated. “I am deeply shocked,” he said. “There is no place for a weapon on the football field. I do not exclude that sanctions will be adopted against the guilty player and his club.”

One of the members of the Black Arrow Board Henk Vecers said that the possibility of excluding his club from the national championship is being considered. “This is a rainy day for our football,” he emphasized. “The football player who opened the shooting will no longer be allowed to participate in the matches.”
