La Scala musicians refused the strike: the theater is normalized

The Milan Opera Theater La Scala managed to avoid a strike that threatened to disrupt the long -awaited opera Don Carlos. The theater administration managed to agree with four trade unions, including Fials, uniting most La Scala employees, including musicians, Bloomberg reports.

Don Carlos has been putting the theater on December 7 over the past 42 years. The production, which is dedicated to the patron of Milan Ambrosia Mediolansky, brings an average of 2 million euros ($ 2.5 million) and is one of the main cultural events in the life of the city.

This year, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is going to attend the performance. In addition, Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi and Argentina President Christina Kirschner will most likely arrive on the sensational production.

Recall that the protest , as a result of which the work of the most famous opera theater was practically paralyzed, was organized by the Fials union, which announced its dissatisfaction with the agreement, which was signed by the leadership of the theater and three other trade unions in July this year.

No details of the agreement concluded with the trade unions are reported. It is only known that the striking employees of La Scala, including musicians and chorist, demanded an increase in salaries, because in the past seven years it has been frozen.
