The Frunze District Court of Vladivostok considered the case against a local resident who decided to earn extra money on the installation of counterfeit computer programs. It was sentenced to 1 year and a fine of 117 thousand rubles, the Far Eastern IA Prima-Media reports.

As it was established during the trial, the defendant for a reward in the amount of 2000 rubles installed on 4 computers counterfeit programs Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Office.

In court, the accused completely repented of his deed, and explained that if he knew that his actions were criminally punishable, then he would not have committed them.

Given the sincere repentance, as well as the mitigating circumstances (spouse's pregnancy), the court sentenced the man to 1 year conditionally with a test term for a year. In addition, the court in the framework of the criminal case satisfied the civil lawsuit against the perpetrator in the amount of 117 thousand 138.56 rubles.

The situation in which the investigation becomes known to the number of established copies of the unlicensed software and the exact amount of payment for work is usually characteristic of police inspections, the publication of CNews notes in this regard.
