In most of the European territory of Russia, the weather will be formed under the influence of a southern cyclone from the Balkans. In the central and Central Chernozem regions, in the active section of the cold atmospheric front, there will be precipitation at times, strong in places, and gusty winds.

In St. Petersburg on December 8, there is occasional light snow at night, mostly no precipitation during the day, the air temperature during the day is 0...-2°C, at night in the surrounding areas with clearings down to -5°C. On December 9, there was mostly no precipitation, the air temperature during the day was -2...-4°C, at night in the surrounding area down to -7°C.

In the north-west of European Russia, snow and freezing temperatures in places increase the likelihood of colds. In the central regions and in the south of European Russia, humid and windy weather with a low oxygen content in the air can negatively affect the well-being of people with chronic oxygen deficiency and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases. Strong gusts of wind in the south of European Russia can negatively affect the well-being of people with psycho-emotional disabilities.
