MOVIE

“About Fedot the Sagittarius, a daring fellow” (Russia, 2008). Directed by Lyudmila Steblyanko. Screen adaptation of the cult fairy tale poem by Leonid Filatov. A well-quoted story about the Tsar's archer, whom the sovereign torments with all sorts of voluntaristic orders, but in fact wants to take the archer's wife-sorceress into the crowned paws. "Eros, Help" (Taiwan, 2007). Directed by Lee Kang Sheng. Starring Lee Kang Sheng, Jane Liao, Dennis Nieh and Ivy Yee. A bankrupt stock speculator tries to cope with his problems by locking himself in his own apartment, where he grows marijuana, talks on a helpline and conducts complex sexual orgies. The second directorial experience of Lee Kang Shen, a regular actor and life partner of perhaps the most famous Taiwanese director Chiai Ming Liang (here he acts as a producer), contains many scenes that one hundred percent fall under the definition of “XXX”, which, however, is not prevented (or even vice versa) the film from entering last year's Venice competition, receiving prizes at the film festivals in Gijon, Bangkok and Buenos Aires, as well as the All-Asian film award for best cinematography. “5 stars on Novokuznetskaya” 21.00, 23.00, “Horizon” 11.15, 20.30, “October” 19.00, 21.00.

Anatoly Osmolovsky: “Worship” . The series of objects presented at the exhibition develops the images that Osmolovsky has been working on over the past years - flat wooden sculpture covered with fine and complex carvings, which were created not through free improvisation, but according to clearly calculated principles associated with the structures of symmetry and the evolution of organic form. Previous works are well known to the viewer under the title “Bread” - they were shown at the “I Believe” exhibition at Winzavod, at the “Documenta” exhibition in Kassel and as part of the international tour of the Kandinsky Prize exhibition. The current several series of objects, from monumental to intimate, united under the title “Worship”, are devoted to the study of the sacred nature of the origin of form in the fine arts.
