The inhabitants of Grozny will reach a rally of protest against the liberation of Budanov

The residents of Grozny on Monday will again gather a protest on the parole (UDO) of the former Colonel Yuri Budanov, convicted of the murder of the Chechen girl, Elsa Kungaeva, said the head of the regional youth public organization Patriot , Isa Hadzhimuradov.

“On Monday (December 29) at 11:00 in the square of journalists (in the very center of the city), a protest rally against the liberation of Budanov will again be held,” the interlocutor said.

The first protest against Udo Budanov took place in Grozny on December 25, about a thousand people were present at the rally.

“We are afraid that there was little benefit from the first rally and the authorities did not respond to this protest, so we decided to hold another rally. It is expected that on Monday there will be even more people than December 25,” Khadzhimuradov explained.

Colonel Budanov for the abduction and murder of Kungaeva, committed in 2000, was sentenced by the North Caucasus Military District Court on July 25, 2003 to ten years of strict regime with deprivation of military rank and state awards. Budanov was serving a sentence in the Ulyanovsk region. On December 24, the Dimitrovgrad City Court, Budanov’s petition for parole, satisfied Budanov on December 24, 2008. He can be released after January 11.

On Friday, December 26, the chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Lebedev did not exclude that he would personally consider the complaint against Budanov, if one is filed.
