Hungary will help Serbia survive the gas crisis

Hungary will be able to sell Serbia from 1 million to 2 million cubic meters of gas on Thursday so that the Serbian population does not remain without heating. This was reported, said the Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenz Durchan. "The fact that yesterday Hungary used less gas than expected, makes it possible to provide Serbia with 1-2 million cubic meters of gas," he said.

The head of the government said that this volume "is about a quarter of Serbia gas consumption. This will allow the victims (from gas lack of gas) for families to spend Christmas holidays in heated houses."

Durchan praised the inhabitants of Hungary, who, if problems arose with the supply of Russian gas through Ukraine, showed responsibility and significantly reduced the consumption of this energy resource. It was thanks to this that in Hungary it became possible to direct part of the gas to Serbia.

The Prime Minister warned that, perhaps, Hungary would be able to send up to 2 million cubic meters of gas per day to Serbia.

Recall that since Tuesday, four Balkan countries that are not part of the EU and are the former parts of Yugoslavia are completely deprived of the supply of Russian gas - Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. On Wednesday night, with the overlap of the last valve, other European countries replenished this list.
