Sunday Times: Abramovich is going to sell London "Chelsea"

The Russian Multimilliarder Roman Abramovich, who owns the English football club Chelsea, can sell it to one of the Gulf states, the Sunday Times, the British edition of the British edition.

According to the newspaper sources in Arab countries, representatives of Abramovich recently traveled to Saudi Arabia and the UAE in order to "probe the soil" for the interest of the Arabs in FC Chelsea. One of the meetings was held with representatives of the Saudi royal family, but there is no information about whether anyone was interested in the proposal of representatives of Abramovich.

“The Abramovich team was in the Middle East, trying to find out what interest there is in the purchase of the club,” the newspaper quotes the word of his source.

However, the Executive Director of Chelsea Peter Kenion denied information about the intention of the Russian billionaire, who "poured" a huge amount of money into the club, to sell FC, and called it "just nonsense."

Since the acquisition of Chelsea in 2003, Abramovich spent hundreds of millions of pounds on a football club. Over the past few years, he not only covered the huge debts of the club, but also invested significant funds in the acquisition of new players and the development of the club’s infrastructure, adds RIA Novosti.

It is known that the London team has not yet brought it to its owner. At the same time, the British media believe that Chelsea for Abramovich is just a hobby, and not a “business investment”.
