A powerful cyclone is approaching Primorye

All duty services of cities and regions of the Primorsky Territory are brought into a state of increased readiness in connection with an impending strong cyclone. This decision was made at a meeting of the regional commission to prevent and eliminate emergency situations and ensure fire safety, ITAR-TASS reports.

The operational regional headquarters was created, which included representatives of rescuers, the Internal Affairs Directorate and the regional department of road facilities.

The cause of anxiety was a strong cyclone that approaches the territory of the Primorsky Territory. According to RIA "Duta" with reference to the press service of Primorskhidromet, on January 21, the territory of the Asian continent will divide two vast, but opposite in the nature of the circulation of atmospheric vortices. In the central part of the continent, the initiative will belong to an extensive cyclonic system with a center over Mongolia. In the north, its dominance will continue to defend the ridge of a powerful Siberian anticyclone.

But by the evening of Wednesday evening, priority will be completely given to the cyclone. The whirlwind will approach the borders of the Primorye, which will cause small snow in places in the west of the edge. During the night of January 22, precipitation will apply to the rest of the Primorye. By Thursday evening, the intensity of precipitation will increase, since a wave cyclone from the yellow sea will come to the southern coast of Primorye. On the afternoon of January 23, on the coast in the north winds up to 28 m/seconds there will be a strong snowstorm with visibility of less than 500 m. Snow drifts and ice are expected on the roads.

According to the Department of Road Facilities of the Primorsky Territory, 500 units of specialized equipment - graders, excavators, loaders, and snowpipe are ready to clear roads from snow. The necessary anti -icing materials are ready. The traffic police department turned to residents in advance to abandon traveling to snowfall.

Recall that the last time a strong cyclone fell on Primorye a few days ago. It brought a record amount of precipitation. So, in the Terney district and the city of Dalnegorsk, from 10 to 13 months of precipitation fell in three days, and the thickness of the snow cover reached 2 m in places.
