The Japanese rescuers stopped the search for the JI Won No.1 vessel with a crew of 12 citizens of Russia, which disappeared near the island of Hokkaido. The fate of the sailors and the ship remains unknown. This was reported to ITAR-TASS in the Vladivostok marine rescue and coordination center (SKC).

The operation was involved in the aviation of the Japanese side, but the searches did not give any results.

Currently, the issue of continuing searches using the Pacific Fleet aircraft is being decided, the SCC said. "An application was also submitted to the head of the Far Eastern Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergencies in Khabarovsk," Interfax reports.

The ship JI Won No.1 went under the flag of Panama and belonged to the company from the Republic of Korea. On December 22, it left the South Korean port of Mukho and worked off the coast of Japan. On January 19, in the area of ​​the port of Rumoi (Hokkaido Island), a deceased person was found in a rescue vest with the name of the vessel. Under him they found passports of four Russian citizens.

The Vladivostok SKC sent a written request to his colleagues in the Republic of Korea and Japan to provide a set of documents on a ship, crew, as well as explanations for their search.

Rescuers believe that ji won no.1 is a fishing schooner. Its length is 26.8 meters, width is 5.8 meters. The last time the ship was in touch on December 25, 2008.
