Mariinsky Theater will present three operas in London

The Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater from St. Petersburg on Friday begins short tour on the stage of the famous London Cultural Center "Barbican". All three operas are based on masterpieces of Russian literary classics, and their premieres took place in the Mariinsky Theater.

The “Queen of Spades” according to the same story by Alexander Pushkin was staged in Mariinka in 1860, the Demon opera, according to the poem by Mikhail Lermontov, appeared on the stage of the theater in 1875, and the production of “Karamazov brothers” according to the novel by Fedor Dostoevsky was first represented by the public in July 2008, and its British premiere will be held in London.

As the Mariinka press service previously clarified, soloists are engaged in London tour, whose execution of parties is recognized as almost the reference. In the Pikyka Lady, Vladimir Galuzin will perform in the German party, and Evgeny Nikitin will perform in the Countess Party - Larisa Dyadkova, the title party in the Demon will be performed.

The composition of the soloists is busy in the Karamazov brothers, whose work in premiere performances was highly appreciated by the Russian press - Vasily Gorshkov, August Amonov, Alexei Markov, Vladislav Sulimsky, Andrey Popov, Gennady Beznozubenkov, Kristina Kapustinskaya.

In addition, on the last day of the tour-on February 1, the premiere of the documentary of the British director Marji Kinmont Mariinsky Theater. 1783-2008, dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the theater, will be held in the Barbikan cinema.
