The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine canceled the Friday meeting, during which agreements were to be discussed concluded following the results of the Gas War with Russia. The reason was that the country's Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko could not attend the meeting-she went to Munich for an international conference on security policy issues, ITAR-TASS reports.
In Munich, Yulia Tymoshenko will discuss with the leaders of European countries a struggle with the consequences of the financial and economic crisis. “Today we plan to discuss energy security issues that are very important for Ukraine, as well as collective security issues,” the Prime Minister said. As expected, Tymoshenko will make a report on the forum.
- Tymoshenko: Yushchenko prevents the government from working
Earlier it was reported that the Council of People's Commissars will be held without Tymoshenko (it was supposed to represent the first deputy prime minister Alexander Turchinov), led by President Viktor Yushchenko. However, due to the departure of the head of government and the fact that the heads of Naftogaz of Ukraine could not arrive at the meeting, it was postponed - for the third time.
Recall, on January 19, Naftogaz Ukraine and Gazprom signed contracts for the supply of Russian gas to Ukraine until 2019. Thus, it was possible to put an end to the protracted conflict and resume the supply of fuel to Europe in full. Tymoshenko claims that the average gas price this year for Ukraine will be $ 2,28.8 per thousand cubic meters - this is the lowest price for Russian gas for a foreign state.
Nevertheless, President Yushchenko calls signed contracts "disadvantageous" for Ukraine and criticizes Tymoshenko. He indicates that Naftogaz will suffer financial losses that will have to be covered from the state budget.
In addition, the Provisional Investigation Commission of the Ukrainian Parliament claims that Yulia Tymoshenko had no authority to sign the directives of Naftogaz of Ukraine for the conclusion of contracts with Gazprom. The commission also requires a criminal case for disruption at the beginning of 2009 a contract for gas transit with Russia. Negotiations with Gazprom at the end of December were ripped off the Ukrainian side, says the head of the commission inna theological.
At the same time, theologian emphasized that Ukraine did not steal Russian gas. “Indeed, Ukraine removed 52 million cubic meters of gas from the pipe to ensure the technical conditions of transportation,” she admitted. “However, these volumes were later returned.”
Tymoshenko: Yushchenko prevents the government from working
Earlier on Friday, the Prime Minister accused the president of obstructing the coordinated work of the government and local authorities, NEWSRU.UA reports. Opening a selector meeting on loans to agriculture with governors, she noted that most of the heads of regions ignored this event. The prime minister is convinced that this is explained by the "direct team of the president." As a result, the meeting did not take place.
“I will once again appoint a selector meeting upon returning from Munich,” the prime minister promised. She noted that at a selector meeting, she was supposed to discuss issues important to the country's economy, in particular on the prolongation of loans to agrarians, providing them with means and diesel fuel for spring-field work.
The president and prime minister have long been arguing which of them is more important for governors. Tymoshenko considers the heads of the regions part of the executive branch, led by the Cabinet of Ministers. According to the Constitution of Ukraine, the heads of regional state administrations are appointed by the president on the proposal of the government. However, the president, according to Tymoshenko, appointed "almost all the heads of regional administrations without representing the government."
“The president’s actions are anti -constitutional and destroy the work of the executive vertical of power,” Tymoshenko concluded.
