
At least 15 people were killed and up to 50 were injured as a result of a powerful tornado, which fell on Tuesday south of the American state of Oklahom. A strong wind also led to interruptions with power supply in the capital of the state - Oklahoma -City - and in the western part of Texas, reports AFP.
The dead and the wounded - the inhabitants of the small town of Lon GROV, located about 100 miles from the capital, explained in rescue services. According to reports, the wind caused a city with a population of 4.6 thousand people significant destruction.
The wind that tumbled pillars led to the fact that 28.5 thousand inhabitants of the state were left without electricity. Six residential buildings were inflicted in Oklahoma City, road signs were demolished, and wind gusts reached such a force that parked cars in parking lots pushed each other, ITAR-TASS reports. Classes in schools took place, but students were forbidden to leave the premises during a whirlwind.
In the west of Texas, road roads were closed due to dust storms, there was also power outages.
