
The construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi will cost 218 billion rubles, Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said to reporters following a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
"Today, forecast figures for the construction of Olympic facilities, including access roads, gaskets, heat supply, will cost 218 billion rubles," said Kozak, who oversees preparations for the Olympics.
According to him, thanks to the examinations, some of the objects managed to reduce the cost by 7.5 billion rubles. “We reduced expenses in 2009 (year) by 15%,” added Deputy Prime Minister. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that 106 billion rubles will amount to investors.
Kozak also said, RIA Novosti reports that the construction of facilities in Vladivostok for the APEC summit of the APES countries will cost 15% cheaper compared to initial plans and will amount to 140 billion rubles.
At the same time, he noted that the environmental situation in Vladivostok, where the APEC summit is planned, is "worse than in Sochi."
