Lebedev intends to sue forbes

Russian entrepreneur Alexander Lebedev intends to file a lawsuit against Forbes magazine, demanding compensation for moral and material damage. This is reported by Interfax.

"Forbes magazine claims that I lost $ 2.5 billion during the global financial crisis, which is complete nonsense, and I will demand compensation for moral and material damage caused to me from this diffamation," Lebedev said.

He noted that some Russian media, having printed this “fabrication” of the magazine, began to argue that the entrepreneur intends to participate in the elections of the mayor of Sochi in order to compensate for the lost financial resources.

"Some of our newspapers, publishing this message of Forbes magazine, began to claim that I was going to the election of the mayor of Sochi in order to enrich in case of victory at the expense of the means allocated to prepare for the Winter Olympics," Lebedev said.

Earlier, he stated that he knew how to save on preparations for the 2014 Olympics from 100 to 150 billion rubles. In case of his victory in the election, Lebedev intends to spend saved funds on the needs of Sochi residents.
