On the night of March 31 to April 1, 2009. Lev Aleksandrovich Ponomarev, a deputy of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, then the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a very famous public figure in the country and beyond its borders, a democrat who has a high and undeniable reputation in the human rights community.

No one has a doubt that this reprisal is obviously political in nature. Alas, politically motivated violence is completely nearby and even murders became an ordinary ordinary man. I will not remind you of a long and mournful list of political reprisals - your assistants can easily provide it to you in all details.

But that is striking - when the political motives are obvious, her sacrifice is always a critic or opponent of power.

Why would this, Mr. President, do you think?

I will not now consider the suspicion of the direct participation of state special services in such reprisals. Although civil society is not only entitled, but also obliged to keep in mind such suspicions (domestic history is too stubbornly pushing them), but this is a separate, very complex, and even deliberately confusing problem.

In my appeal to you, Mr. President, I am still much softer for your power by the version - it is quite possible that the fascinating bandits beat Lev Ponomarev. Well, certainly not criminals: firstly, criminals relate to power more than cool, you believe me, and secondly, Lev Aleksandrovich is widely known, including in prisons, as a very energetic (and sometimes not-witted) fighter against arbitrariness and abuses in the penitentiary system.

So, it is very likely that the Nazis? But the question is - why do they love your power so much, Mr. President? Does it really bother you? Do we really return - and even quite quickly - in the memorable era of "socially alien" and "socially close"? “Socially alien”, of course, we, no matter how we call us liberals, opposition, human rights activists, “dissidents”, independent civil activists. This is natural. For example, I will not think of parting with the privilege to be a stranger to our current political elite. But these scum, which are beaten in the yards and shoot in the porches, because they again firmly entered the list of your “socially close ones”.

I will not give here obvious examples of cynical connivance to the bandits, there are many these examples, they are well known, I will not clutter up a short open letter.

That is why they love you that this connivance without words, without the inappropriate frankness of the Stalin era, but with the maximum clarity, accessible to an evil, blunt bastard, expressively demonstrates a deep inner intimacy, almost complete identity of your habits and assessments.

What to think about, observing, for example, how the “Annunciation case” was investigated about the beating by the police and torture of several hundred inhabitants (by the way, L.A. Ponomarev played almost the main role in attempts to force the authorities to seriously engage in investigation). In any civilized state in a much small case of police arbitrariness, the government would be pumped, and ours (i.e., excuse me, yours) Nurgaliev receives his ranks and awards and does not blow to his mustache.

In what other country would a person have approved in the status of a member of the parliament, whose accusation of a barbaric political murder would not be refuted in court?

And here is a judicial case - two state (identical, very special) employees of the Russian Federation blew up a car in Qatar, while killing a man and a child. They were convicted, convicted and, at the request of Russia, were given to her to serve his sentence at home. In Moscow, patriots were met with considerable honor. But where are they serving a sentence, the sentence, I would like to know? It seems to me that rather we would find them on the lists of secretly awarded than prisoners.

Well, is it worth our homegrown fascists to doubt that they are “socially close”? Of course, however, “which is allowed to Jupiter is not allowed to the bull,” but they perfectly understand this-they will not take sex in London and TNT to Qatar too.

Solemn pathetic about freedom, which is better than non-freedom, few believe, Mr. President, would be more convincing things, but it’s just the opposite with them. Contrary to Paphos speeches (and, perhaps, together with pathos), our political practice arouses disgusting trends in society; Now you won’t figure it out where there are special services, and where are just fascists. Then the concept of the law is associated with hypocrisy. It is catastrophically dangerous - not criminal not to understand what it leads to. And the authorities are always guilty of this.

Having disturbed you, I did not hope at all that my letter could change anything. But, I think, however, that simple things should always be uttered openly.
