Incredibly: ballerina Anastasia Volochkova, whom many viewed as a pro-Kremlin candidate specially introduced into the race to counter the opposition, was not registered as a candidate for mayor of Sochi. Berdnikov previously stated that Volochkova violated the procedure for submitting documents and he would sue her. Lebedev, meanwhile, accused the Sochi authorities of obstructing him in his election campaign. His confidant Artem Artemov said that advertising agencies refuse to cooperate with Lebedev because, citing the order of the mayor’s office, they require that election advertising be coordinated with the city authorities, RIA reports. The mayor's office and agencies deny this statement. Artemov claims that the local Sberbank is also opposed to Lebedev: first it spoiled the documents, then delayed the transfers.
