There are a majority in the Moldavian village of Skinoas 60 km from Chisinau. Mostly gypsies live here, only 270 people. Finding the village is not easy: on the highway there is not a single road pointer or sign, only a narrow country road moves towards. On the field, then along the forest, then - a cliff. Almost all year round there is dirt knee -deep, the car will not pass. “When someone becomes bad in the village, the patient has to carry up the mountain along the mud to the highway, and this is almost a kilometer,” says local resident Maria Kozma. - The ambulance just cannot drive closer. There is not a single doctor in the village. ”

There is no grocery store in the skinoas, residents have to go for food for a neighboring village located three kilometers. Although "products" - loudly said. They buy, as a rule, only bread, there is not enough money for more. There is no work in the village. “How do I feed my family? I go to the neighboring villages - to whom the firewood is ruffling, to whom I tear out the weeds. Give a plate of beans or a plate of flour for this, ”says Mikhai. - It would be something to go to Kalarash (district center), maybe they could earn there. But I don’t even have normal clothes to get a job. When I go somewhere, I have to ask for clothes from a cousin. ”

The neighbor Mikhai Zinaida Crachun has six children. She recently returned from Voronezh, where she went to work. For six months of work, she was given money only for a return ticket. “Many people tried to go to Russia to earn money, but they throw almost everyone there,” Zinaida explains. “You work for several months, but they don’t pay you anything as a result.”

We have to walk per kilometer from the village and type water in the ditch. There is not a well, nothing, just a swamp, but nothing else is left - we drink water with a sediment. ”

The childhood of a kindergarten in Skinoas has never been. Primary school - only until the fourth grade. Teacher Sylvia Kurkodel every day comes from the neighboring village of Tsibirik. Only she teaches at a school located in the house of one of the villagers. In one day, you have to conduct lessons in all four classes: until one day - in the second and fourth grades, after - in the first and third. After graduating from elementary school, children can continue their studies in a neighboring village, to which several kilometers. “They don’t go anywhere, there’s nothing to go to school, there are also no clothes in which they could go to school,” explains Boris Kozmia, the father of two children. - So the children grow up stupid. Half of the village cannot read, count or sign. ” Lena abandoned her studies after she was very beaten at school - with her head on the desk. After that, she was afraid to go to school, so she did not learn to read and write to her 15 years.

The head of the Kalarash district Elijah REU claims that the Party of power - the Communists - there are in the village of Skinoas, but at the same time made a reservation that during the election campaign the village did not represent much interest for them.
