The largest Russian mobile operator, MTS, filed a lawsuit against the Euroset cell retailer. The company demands to pay it more than 270 million rubles, Interfax reports.
In particular, we are talking about paying off debt on the supply of iPhone phones. In addition, it is reported that Euroset should pay MTS 325 million rubles received in the form of payments of subscribers, but never transferred to the cellular operator.
Last Friday, five days were expired, the Euroset for paying MTS 500 million rubles. Euroset is not going to pay, so the company demanded a refund in court, adding a 25% fine to them.
Recall that last week, the MTS mobile operator terminated the dealership and an agreement on receiving payments with the Euroset. In Belarus, due to the weak promotion of the contracts of the Euroset operator and MTS, they terminated the cooperation agreement. The operator sent the retailer a demand for repayment of debt in the amount of more than 1.2 billion rubles. Euroset's leadership refuted the presence of debt to MTS. According to the First Vice President for Finance and the Administration of Retail Vitaly Podolsky, the debt of MTS to the Euroset itself in terms of the payment of the dealership commission exceeds 746 million rubles.
“If by the end of this Friday we will not receive evidence from the Euroset that they made payments in our favor, then next week we will be forced to demand our money and money of our subscribers through the court,” said MTS representative Elena Kokhanovskaya on Thursday.
MTS demanded that the Euroset abandon the contract with Megafon, ”said Natalya Aristova, spokesman for Euroset. “We were ready to work further and without a new contract at a standard dealer agreement, but MTS decided to unilaterally get out of it,” she emphasized. According to her, Euroset is ready to return to the negotiating table, because he believes that first of all, MTS punished its customers.
Last week, Euroset entered into an agreement on “strategic partnership” with Megafon for a period of 18 months. The operator will give out the “Euroset” an advance for about $ 100 million on the basis of sales of his SIM cards on security of 25% of the Euroset shares.
Elena Kokhanovskaya rejects accusations of pressure on Euroset. “Everyone knows that the FAS imposed restrictions on the Euroset, obliging it to sell all the operators equally, and in this situation we cannot demand a share of 40% and the departure of MegaFon from there, it is simply impossible to do,” she emphasized.
The quarrel between MTS and Euroset was expected after 49.9% of Euroset bought Vimpelcom (working under the Beeline brand). Prior to this, MTS sold about 40% of contracts through Euroset. After purchasing the share of retailer, the share of Euroset in MTS sales decreased to 20-25%, and recently did not exceed 13%.
