Lawyer Kuznetsov: The investigation is seeking my absentee arrest

Lawyer Boris Kuznetsov, accused of disclosing GOSTaina, claims that the investigation is trying to achieve his absentee arrest. The corresponding petition was received by the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow, and its consideration was scheduled for April 28, Kuznetsov said RIA Novosti. The lawyer explained that he had received a copy of his lawyer Robert Zinoviev.

Boris Kuznetsov represented the interests of the former Senator from Kalmykia Levon Chakhmmayan, convicted of fraud. In 2007, the lawyer admitted that he photographed a secret memorandum, which spoke of listening to the Senator’s telephone calls by law enforcement agencies. According to investigators, Kuznetsov showed a copy of this document to his colleague, and then handed it to the Constitutional Court. The lawyer himself claims that he did not show his colleague the content of the memorandum.

After the court authorized the prosecution of Kuznetsov to criminal liability, the lawyer left Russia. Last year, he received political asylum in the United States.

At the end of last year, Kuznetsov appealed to the European Court of Human Rights with a claim against the Russian authorities. The lawyer demands to recognize the criminal prosecution against him and pay compensation for the damage suffered. Due to the claims of law enforcement agencies, Kuznetsov was forced to close his lawyer office.

In September last year, it became known about the suspension of the investigation of the criminal case of Kuznetsov. It was reported that the decision was made in connection with the nobility of the accused.
