Sochi chooses the mayor. Nemtsov predicts "mass fraud"

In Sochi, a vote began in the early elections of the head of the city. Exactly at 08:00 Moscow time all 211 polling stations opened. More than 293 thousand people are included in the voter lists. For the first time this year, a plot has been organized, where residents of Abkhazia, who have Sochi registration, can vote.

The election campaign, according to observers, turned out to be one of the most noisy in the country over the past few years. Six candidates are running in the election of the mayor of Sochi: entrepreneur Pavel Emelianenko, co -chair of the Solidarity movement Boris Nemtsov, Krasnodar entrepreneur Vladimir Trukhanovsky, acting mayor of the city Anatoly Pakhomov, nominated by the local branch of the United Russia party, the first secretary of the Sochi City Branch of the Communist Party of the Communist Party and the head of the Krasnodar regional branch LDPR Alexey Kolesnikov.

Initially, more than 20 people claimed the post of mayor, among whom were even pornstar and ballerina, but in the end, most of those who wanted to eliminate either, such as the ex-leader of the DPR Andrei Bogdanov, or by court decision, such as Alexander Lebedev, who stated that this was made by political motives. Lebedev said that Sochi had a "very dirty campaign", reports Echo of Moscow . This is claimed by Boris Nemtsov. He and his team from the very beginning of the campaign were in the center of various scandals.

It began with the fact that Nemtsov was doused with Coca-Cola with ammonia, and ended with negative plots on local television. The candidate from the Communist Party of the Dzagania did not stand aside from the scandal. He tried through the court to remove Anatoly Pakhomov from the elections of United Russia and failed. As a result, the Communists said that the Sochi elections “cannot be called the elections”, but only by appointment with voting elements.

Opposition candidates spoke about the falsification of elections with the beginning of early voting in Sochi. When it became known that the residents of neighboring Abkhazia, who have Russian passports, Boris Nemtsov, in an interview with Times, said that the local administration was preparing “mass fraud”.

The election of the head of Sochi was declared after the retreat of the former acting Mayor Dzhambulat Khatuov, who replaced Vladimir Afanasenkov in this post. On June 29, 2008, Afanasenkov was elected mayor of Sochi, and in October filed a resignation for health reasons. Prior to his candidacy for the election, the duties of the mayor of the resort of Sochi were performed by the former Anapa mayor Anatoly Pakhomov.

The current early elections of the mayor of the city have become the second over the past year, so the terms of the election campaign were reduced by a third. As noted in the horiz being noted, the reduction in preparation for the elections was not affected, the precinct commissions were formed and provided with everything necessary for voting.

“The elections provide 2 thousand 202 members of the commission with a ruling vote, including the United Russia party - 210 people, from the Communist Party - 205 people, 47 people from just Russia,” said the chairman of the election commission Yuri Rykov.

Voting will be held until 20:00 Moscow time. After counting the votes, a candidate who received 50 percent and 1 vote of voters will be recognized as the winners. Otherwise, a second round will be held in which the winner will be determined by a simple majority of votes, ITAR-TASS reports.
