| The Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet), three weeks after the tragedy in the Jewish settlement of Bat Ayin in the West Bank, announced the arrest of a Palestinian who attacked children. He turned out to be a 26-year-old resident of the neighboring Arab village of Khirbat Safa named Musa Tit. On April 2, an attacker armed with an ax entered the territory of the Jewish settlement of Bat-Ayin and attacked children playing table tennis. He killed 13-year-old Shlomo Nativ on the spot, and wounded seven-year-old Yair Gamliel in the head.
According to the police, the detainee confessed to the crime and showed the Israelis the place where he hid the ax. Musa Titus said he killed the Israeli teenager for religious reasons because he “always dreamed of becoming a martyr.” The killer was caught on April 14, but the Shin Bet officially announced his detention only yesterday.
