Strategy without dangers

Having signed the Russian national security strategy until 2020, President Dmitry Medvedev gave the Western opportunity - I would like to say to “Sovietists” - to talk about Russian foreign policy again. Maybe this is a signal to the new American President Barack Obama? Perhaps the new Russian president thus demonstrates confidence in his own strengths and the continuity of politics? After all, the American president, which gathered in Moscow, needs to understand that the Russian leadership further considers the placement of US anti -missile defense elements in Europe almost the main problem of security of its own country.

Any sane Russian can tell his president what the main threats of the country's national security are. In the raw material nature of the economy, turning Russia into a third world country the next day after the fall of oil prices. In the suffocating country of corruption. In the catastrophic extinction of the population, which calls into question the physical possibility of not even development, but simply the settlements of Russian expanses. But who is interesting in the Russian political elite all this rubbish?

In the minds of random people who found themselves in the Moscow corridors of power at the beginning of the new millennium, modern Russia is a certain clone of the Soviet Union, rising from imaginary knees. Naturally, this clone, living in the virtual Kremlin-television space, is completely different threats. The main opponent is all the same United States that dream of humiliating Russia and preventing its revival. The main traitors are the former Soviet satellites who dared to consider the happy years of staying in the shadow of the Big Brother not the best time in their history and establishing cooperation with overseas adversary. The main ally - China, whose leadership is unlikely to dream of a joint struggle against an adversary, since economically - and the crisis has clearly proved this - depends on its prosperity.

It is noteworthy that from the new strategy, all the threats that were considered serious at the beginning of the century have practically disappeared. The current government is no longer worried about the intensifying stratification of society, terrorism and separatism - despite the difficult situation in the Caucasus, the crisis of social security and health care, and the criminalization of public relations. Is there really nothing more? But I really want to not be - and really critical for the future of Russia, questions are simply removed from the concept. Let this be an ordinary bureaucratic document, but earlier he at least testifies that the authorities understands in which country it lives.

And now the strategy approved by its president has nothing to do with the problems of real Russia. From the document, we can learn everything about the Manilov dreams of Russian officials, about how Napoleon every clerk imagines himself, which goes to work in the Council of Security or the administration of the head of state, what image of Russia is loosened in his mind on the way to Rublevka. But we will not find out about Russia itself, just as we will not understand at all what the country will be in 2020. One thing is obvious - if the documents accepted by the top leadership will still be far from the real state of affairs in Russia and in the world, after a decade, the successor of Dmitry Medvedev will no longer be up to broadcast concepts.
