Moscow waiting list will be given housing in the suburbs

The State Duma approved in the first reading a bill that allows the waiting lists from Moscow and St. Petersburg, the apartments not only in cities of residence, as the current legislation provides, but also in the territory of the Moscow and Leningrad regions, respectively. Amendments are proposed to make an article in the Housing Code in the 57th.

As one of the authors of the bill, the head of the Duma committee on civil, criminal, arbitration and procedural law, Pavel Krasheninnikov, speaking at a meeting of the chamber, the draft law "aimed at reducing the queue for obtaining social housing in two capitals". "In the current version, it was established that the dwelling provided by the waiting list should be located within the village where the waiting list lives. However, as you know, in cities of federal significance to Moscow and St. Petersburg there is an acute lack of land for housing construction," the deputy said.

All this, according to him, lengthens the already long time for obtaining social institutions. "Therefore, the bill proposes to provide the opportunity to the bodies authorized to provide social housing to citizens living in Moscow and St. Petersburg and standing in line, to provide residential premises located in the territories of the Moscow and Leningrad regions," Krasheninnikov noted.

At the same time, he added that the bodies will be able to do this only with the consent of the waiting list themselves. "The adoption of this bill will not only ensure the gradual reduction in the number of waiting lists in Moscow and St. Petersburg due to the construction of social housing, including low -rise, but also allow state support for the construction industry, which is especially important in the conditions of the economic crisis," the head of the committee concluded.
