
President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko advocated the tough reaction of the National Bank and Security Service of Ukraine in relation to banks that speculate in the foreign exchange market, the press service of the head of state said.
"The actions of the National Bank and the SBU should have a lightning -fast reaction, you must show that the reaction will be merciless to such" scabs ". These are the criminals who were hryvnias," the president said on Monday during a meeting with the chairman of the NBU Vladimir Stelmach and the chairman of the SBU Valentin Nalyvavichenko at the airport in Borispol before departing to the Vatican, reports Newsru.ua .
During the meeting, Yushchenko called for measures to instantly eliminate these schemes. "Those documented acts of impaired financial rules that led to destabilizing hryvnias and systematic work should be instantly evaluated. The NBU actions and the SBU should become a lightning -fast reaction to these dirty scenarios," the president said.
According to Yushchenko, sanctions should apply to banks that were noticed in foreign exchange speculations from restrictions on operations to deprivation of licenses. Moreover, the president proposed on June 2 to hold an expanded NBU meeting with such banks.
We will remind, earlier Yushchenko stated that banks that cooperated with the convertible center identified at the end of May Security of Ukraine must be deprived of licenses, including foreign exchange operations.
Previously, Nalvaichenko reported to the President on the results of a large -scale special operation of the SBU, during which a conspiratorial convertible center was discovered, which engaged in unlawful turnover of funds and provided services to enterprises of different regions of Ukraine (about 300) to minimize mandatory payments to the state budget, illegal formation of tax credit and withdrawal of currency funds abroad with further importing into the state of goods low cost.
According to Nalvaichenko, about 20 commercial structures were used in the unlawful scheme, the settlement accounts of which were opened in six banking institutions - five banks in Kyiv and one in Dnepropetrovsk.
On May 27, SBU employees, on the basis of 64 decisions of the court and prosecutor's office, held equipment and documentation in the premises of the conversion center and seized.
Five banking institutions of Kyiv have arrested accounts of 20 commercial structures - funds were blocked for a total of more than 1.5 million hryvnias (196 thousand dollars), and more than 1 million hryvnias (131 thousand dollars) were arrested on the accounts of five fictitious firms opened in the Bank of Dnepropetrovsk.
The names of banks are not reported while the investigation is held, reports Newsru.ua.
