On June 8, during a meeting of Dalavia shareholders, the airline company was declared bankrupt. The company's debt to creditors amounts to more than 1.7 billion rubles. Debt settlements are expected after the sale of the company's property, primarily real estate. At the same time, the temporary manager of Dalavia, Vadim Veselkov, warned that the first recipients of the funds will be former employees of the company.

The interim manager of the Dalavia company, Vadim Veselkov, admitted that “the financial stability of the enterprise has been completely lost,” and therefore options for settlement with numerous creditors are being explored. Among those wishing to receive money from the carrier are Khabarovsk airport, tax and utility services, as well as more than 2.5 thousand laid-off employees of the company. First of all, as Veselkov promised, the company will settle accounts with former employees; the arrears in wages and benefits amount to about 200 million rubles.

However, Dalavia management emphasizes that payments are possible only from October-November. Until this moment, the bankrupt’s property will be sold off, the sale of which is expected to generate about 1 billion rubles.

Let us recall that the Dalavia company began the bankruptcy process at the end of 2008. Flight operations were suspended on October 19, 2008. Since then, Vladivostok Air, S7 and Aeroflot have taken over the transportation of passengers. Together with Interavia, the air alliance AiRUnion ceased to exist. It is expected that after completing the bankruptcy procedure, Dalavia will become part of Russian Airlines.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the airline's management continues. Earlier, the general director of Dalavia, Valery Chichilimov, was charged with abuse of power. We are talking, in particular, about providing free tickets for flights worth more than 1 million rubles. In addition, the company's managers are charged with illegal sale of aircraft engines. During the audits, it was discovered that the former CEO and CFO of the company sold aircraft engines through companies controlled by them, and then leased the same engines for larger sums.

Taking into account the situation with airlines in the summer of 2008, in April Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed a decree ordering the allocation of subsidies to airlines in 2009 in the amount of 5 billion rubles. The money is intended to compensate those airlines that will take over the transportation of passengers in the event of the suspension of flights of any air carrier. The manager of the funds was the Federal Air Transport Agency.
