A kindergarten teacher in the city of Berezovsky prevented an attempt to abduct a five-year-old girl by a local resident registered in a psychiatric hospital, Nadezhda Ananyeva, a spokeswoman for the SCP of the Russian Federation for a mental hospital, said on Tuesday.

"It was established that on June 22, the suspect ran into the territory of the Alenushka kindergarten in Berezovsky, grabbed one of the pupils born in 2003, dressed in the brightest dress, and dragged her to the gate," Ananyeva said.

According to investigators, the teacher stood up for the girl, after which the suspect hit her on the shoulder. At this time, the girl took advantage of the fact that the man was distracted, and ran into the premises of the kindergarten. The employees of the preschool institution pressed the alarming button, and followed the man, finding out that he bought wine in the store and went into one of the residential buildings, as it turned out later, to his apartment, RIA Novosti reports.

The police officers who arrived on call quickly detained the suspect, and then found that he was registered in a psychiatric hospital.

"The detainee explained to the investigator that he made a mistake in kindergarten and he did not need a girl. He said that he did not hurt the child and that the girl was just beautiful," said the representative of the SCP SU.

The SCP of the Russian Federation in the region began on Tuesday to verify the fact of trying to abduct the child.
