The king of Thailand pardoned the Ukrainian -sentence sentenced to death
The king of Thailand pardoned the citizen of Ukraine Victoria Mamontov, who was arrested in 2000 for drug storage and sentenced to death. This was reported by the press service of the authorized Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Nina Karpachova.
Ukrainian was released from Bangkok's prison. She will return to her homeland next week, reports ITAR-TASS.
At the initiative of Karpachova, a few years ago, the Thai appeal court replaced the death penalty of thirty -eight -year -old Ukrainian for 33 years in prison.
On the proposal of the authorized parliament, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko turned to King Thailand with a request to have mercy on Ukrainian citizen.
