Commander -in -Chief of the Navy: Black Sea Fleet is better to stay in Ukraine and after 2017

The main command of the Russian Navy considers it appropriate to bases the main forces of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol after 2017, Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky told reporters on Sunday.

By agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine of 1997, the Black Sea Fleet is located in Crimea until 2017 with possible prolongation. Some Ukrainian politicians today say that the Black Sea Fleet should prepare for leaving Crimea in 2017.

"We consider it appropriate and justified by the basing of part of the main forces of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol after 2017," said Glavkom.

At the same time, he emphasized that none of the officials in Ukraine is neither the president nor the Prime Minister say that the Black Sea Fleet should leave Sevastopol.

“It is said somewhere, someone below. But this is not a productive policy,” Vysotsky said.

He added that with any development of the situation with Russia about the Russian Navy, no one will speak from the standpoint of strength, and did not speak. "I hope that the leaders of our states will find a solution to this issue in the interests of both Russia and Ukraine," said Glavkom.

Vysotsky in an interview with RIA Novosti in Sevastopol on Sunday stated that the construction of the Novorossiysk Navy is an acquitted development strategy for the Black Sea Fleet.

"All basement points in the coastal territory of the North Caucasus will be used by the Black Sea Fleet," Vysotsky said.
