The positions of the recently united search engines of Microsoft and Yahoo, as it turns out, are not so far from the leader - the Google search engine.
Despite the fact that Microsoft and Yahoo are not the best indicators, in total their services, according to Comscore, are used by 73% of Internet users. The degree of Google's penetration is 84% - thus, the gap between the leader and the recently formed alliance turned out to be not so large, Infox.ru reports.
However, the world's largest search engine significantly overtakes its competitors in other indicators. On average, the user of the World Wide Web resorts to Google 54.5 times a month, while Yahoo and Microsoft are serving only 26.9 search queries.
In absolute indicators, the Google search engine is also unattainable: in the American market, its share is 65%, and the total share of Microsoft and Yahoo is only 28%.
It also turned out that Google adherents are distinguished by touching devotion to their favorite service: almost 70% of all search queries are made on Google sites. Fans of Microsoft and Yahoo, on the contrary, in only 33% of cases turn to the services of an alliance.
According to the analyst from Comscore, Ilai Gudman, now the Microsoft-Yahoo association has a real opportunity to break out: "The main task of the alliance is to create such a search functionality that would make users resort to service more and more often."
