In Iran, a ban on used Russian -made aircraft was introduced

The authorities of Iran forbade their airlines to lease or buy Russian -made used aircraft. This, as reports Reuters, said the head of civil aviation of the country, Mohammed Ali Ilhani.

According to him, after two airlines in July of this year with the participation of the Tu-154 and IL-62, the Iranian authorities issued the appropriate new directive prohibiting airlines to acquire any aircraft, except for new and local security requirements.

Recall, on July 15, in Iran, the Tu-154 passenger aircraft Caspian Airlines crashed, which operated Tiegran-ruin. All 153 passengers and 15 crew members died.

On July 24, at the airport of the city of Meshed, when the Il-62 Iranian airline Aria Airlines, an internal flight along the Tehran-Meshed route, caught fire. The aircraft was leased by the Kazakhstani Air Airline and was controlled by the Kazakhstan crew. As a result of the disaster, 17 people died, of which three are citizens of the Russian Federation, 30 people were injured.

In connection with the sanctions imposed by the United States on the country, Iran cannot purchase aircraft of the American Boeing concern; Many other Western aircraft manufacturers use spare parts also produced in the USA (and, therefore, inaccessible to Iran). In this regard, the Iranian airline aviation park consists in many respects of Russian -made aircraft.
