Experts branded the lunar NASA program as "non -viable"

Independent experts came to the conclusion that the financing of the NASA lunar program must be increased, in the current form it is "non -viable." This is stated in a report prepared by order of the White House, reports on Wednesday RIA Novosti .

The document reports: "The Committee offers two feasible options that are linked to the 2010s of the financial year. However, not one of them provides for a viable research program. Experts came to the conclusion that viable research can be carried out by increasing the existing budget by $ 3 billion. The current annual budget of NASA is $ 18 billion.

According to the authors of the report, not only the financial aspects of the program should be revised, but also the terms of its implementation. As noted in the document, in the current economic situation, landing on the moon until 2020 seems to be an unrealized project.

Experts urge NASA to pay more attention to cooperation with other countries and private commercial firms.
