Olympic harbor for yachts in Sochi will be managed by the world operator

The international company Island Global Yachting (Igy), which runs yacht clubs in the USA, Mexico and the Persian Gulf, agreed to manage the Olympic Village Marina label, which is going to build Oleg Deripaska in Sochi, Writes Vedomosti .

The agreement provides that IGY will become the manager of Marina after the completion of her construction. Yacht clubs under the control of Igy are in the USA, Mexico, Persian Gulf, Mediterranean, and Caribbean. Now in Russia there is no Marin of a similar level, as well as management experience, therefore, they attracted the world operator, said Yuri Tamushkin, director of the Bazel port business.

The creation of Marina Olympic Village Marina on 600-700 parking yacht lane (including megahahya with a length of more than 100 m) will begin at the end of the first quarter of 2014 and end by the end of the year, says Tamushkin. The creation of infrastructure for yachting after the 2014 Olympiad at the site of the cargo port, which will build the Port of Sochi Imeretinsky (Basel structure), is provided for by government decree of July 27, 2009.

Renting one chain meter of parking per day costs $ 5-10, says Andrei Andriyanov, president of the International Association of Yachts and Boats. In his opinion, the payback period of the project is long, "but realistic": it is very difficult to build Marina in Sochi due to a very embossed sea bottom and large depths.

Many projects were declared in Russia to create Marin, but not one of them has begun, says Denis Pirch, Director General of the Moscow shipyard and shipyard. There are only yacht clubs or just parking, and a similar project can give a new impetus to the development of a culture of yacht rest, he adds.

Kyodo notes that Igy has high hopes for the Sochi project in connection with the Olympics and the potential of Sochi as the main resort of Russia.
